Hamilton Reads 2025 Title Revealed at an Evening for Booklovers

The 2025 Hamilton Reads title was unveiled last night at Central Library to a crowd of more than 100 fans of the annual community book club.

"I'm honoured to have All You Can Kill chosen for Hamilton Reads,” said the local author. “I love the Library and all it represents, and I'm very much looking forward to connecting with local folks around my goofy little novel."

This year Hamilton Public Library partnered with Mohawk College, McMaster University Libraries and gritLIT Readers and Writers Festival.

“Hamilton Reads and these partnerships are a testament to the strength of storytelling and conversations around a shared book,” said Cindy Poggiaroni, HPL’s Director Collections and Program Development. “It’s a starting point for meaningful connections.

“Mohawk College Library is thrilled to collaborate with Hamilton Public Library and community partners on the Hamilton Reads this year. We’re excited to promote this fantastic book to Mohawk College students, faculty and staff, and inspire a love of reading and writing through community, while celebrating Hamilton’s amazing local talent,” said Lynn Coleman, Director, Library and Academic Services.

“McMaster University Libraries are pleased to be a new partner for Hamilton Reads, which supports the works of Canadian authors and promotes literacy in our community,” said Vivian Lewis, Associate Vice-President and University Librarian. “We’re especially excited to see this year’s featured title come from Pasha Malla who was our esteemed Mabel Pugh Taylor Writer in Residence for the 2021-2022 academic year.”

"Pasha is one of 30+ authors joining us at gritLIT in April, where All You Can Kill will be our 2025 book club pick, hosted by Annette Hamm on Apr 27 at 10am. Pasha will also appear in our first-ever horror panel on Sat Apr 26 at 8:30pm, which also features Cheryl Isaacs and AGA Wilmot."
